ABC’s Extreme Makeover Home Edition must die

I hate to write this, but our clients have been right all along. We waste time, huge amounts of it. And it’s not just us, it’s the entire construction industry.

How do we use that time? Maybe it’s entering competitions, or reading magazines, getting drunk or writing a blog. It’s called “marketing.”

It seems, though, that the jig is up. ABC’s Extreme Makeover Home Edition has given away the baby with the bathwater.

This show, and others like it, have shown you can rebuild a bathroom in a few hours, a kitchen, garden, and three bedrooms in a day, and an entire house in two days. Now, ┬áit’s nearly impossible to make the argument with an owner that a bathroom takes two months.

This show was originally slated to run for 13 episodes and never appeared to be a threat to our lifestyle. However, it has been on the air for 9 years, produced over 200 episodes and spurned countless imitators around the globe. ABC seems close to ending the show’s run, but still producing regular specials.

It seems we now have the opportunity to put an end to it, once and for all. We need to join together. We must rise up to fight the enemy as one.
